Canada has experienced a multi-year run-up in real estate prices that has left many people feeling richer, some feeling bitter and priced out of the market, and some in both camps.
A common complaint (especially in BC) is that it’s Asian buyers swooping in and pushing prices up, beyond the reach of many locals.
So I thought it was interesting to see what some Asians (at least where we are) blame their rising real estate prices on. Photo from today’s Bangkok Post.
(For the record, I think the complaints in BC are largely nonsense. I don’t know about Phuket – it seems more plausible to me.)

… just finished reading my German Sunday newspaper “Welt am Sonntag”, probably the largest and best known in Germany with a good reputation. Headline in its real estate section: “The Chinese are Coming”. Key message: Chinese buyers are driving up real estate prices in Germany. Seems that everybody is driving up prices elsewhere.
